About the Studio
Krafty Evolution Studio is an artist-owned studio located in Durham, North Carolina founded in 2006 by a visual artist (Arlie) and a photographer (Marie) who met while working as teachers. They began working on weekends together to merely have a creative outlet. Over time the studio evolved, as did the artists.
While their principal passions are painting and photography, the artists keep their sewing machines running and their power tools plugged in to create furniture, sculpture, fabric arts, and other interior design elements. They have dabbled in everything from jewelry to event photography. They have sold their work everywhere from flea markets to fine art galleries.
Arlie & Marie regularly exhibit their work in galleries, shows, and events in the triangle area of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC and hold memberships to various art organizations.
